Highland Dress - silver cantle dress sporrans

Our silver cantles are all made to order and are designed to our customer’s specification. Most of the sporrans unite many different craft skills, from the silversmith, hand-engraver, piercer, chaser, pouch maker and the polisher.

Line engraved with 3 bell tassel caps fitted to a pine marten pelt pouch.

Simple silver cantle sporran

Line engraved with a pierced Celtic strap-work motif applied and an American Silver fox pouch.

Hand engraved silver cantle

Hand engraved with the family favourite flowers with pierced, engraved and applied crest & motto and an American fox pouch.

The oak leaf design is chased into the silver cantle and the family crest & motto pierced out then applied to the cantle with the pouch in brown mink fur.

Family dress sporran

Pierced cantle with applied central family crest and pierced bell tassels, this sporran has a young seal skin pouch which is now banned in Scotland.

We were asked to produce a very close copy of a family sporran. The pouch is seal skin, imported from the Inuit Indians of northern Canada under international agreement.

Sporran refurbishment

The pouch was beyond saving but  the silver cantle and tassel caps were cleaned and polished and a new goat pouch was made to fit.
