Our silver cantles are all made to order and are designed to our customer’s specification. Most of the sporrans unite many different craft skills, from the silversmith, hand-engraver, piercer, chaser, pouch maker and the polisher.

We were asked to produce a very close copy of a family sporran. The pouch is seal skin, imported from the Inuit Indians of northern Canada under international agreement.
The pouch was beyond saving but the silver cantle and tassel caps were cleaned and polished and a new goat pouch was made to fit.
Also known as a ‘waist plate’, this example has the family crest pierced out, hand engraved and then applied to the buckle plate.
In the example the family crest and motto are hand engraved onto the buckle plate.
