Why should it be the preserve of women to enjoy wearing jewellery when men can as well? If you think about it men wearing jewellery is more usual than first meets the eye. Elsewhere in the website we have covered signet rings in detail; however, now we look at other items which can be worn by men.
Before the advent of the cufflink shirt sleeves were laced up. Then during the reigns of Charles II in Britain and Louise XIV of France the wearing of a cufflink became more fashionable, being an outward sign of extravagance and wealth.
Today, the wearing of cufflinks, dress studs and tie pins is typically at formal occasions and dinners when wearing Black Tie. Often they are given as wedding and christening gifts or to mark special occasions. We show examples demonstrating the outstanding skill of the hand engraver.

Our customer selected the cowrie shell from a beach, from which we took a mould and made up a pair silver cufflinks as a memento of a very special weekend.
